“I think it’s coming up at the moment now, a little bit for political reasons…. And people are using the healthcare tourism and medical tourism as a symptom of a disease that’s eating away at the healthcare system due to lack of insurance and not as an opportunity.”

I'm not surprised that so many people seek healthcare in other countries. I'm originally from the UK and have seen first hand what is available in other countries.

I first heard about medical tourism in Michael Moore's 'Sicko'. It seemed like he might be blowing this issue up - but apparently not.

It's not really a new phenomena in Europe. It's been around for centuries. I do agree that medical tourism is being played for political purposes.
