I would rather keep my money that I have worked and sacrificed for and give to charity (which I do..alot) that being said, why should I pay for people that make bad decisions in life, people that are irresponsible, thats not right to punish me and reward them (I speak generally of course).

Two things in life are certain - death & taxes. So if I'm going to be taxed, I would rather my money was helping the well being of others, not funding a war we need no part of.

You can look at it as "paying for other's healthcare" or you can view it as security in the event that you get ill & your insurance won't cover your payments.

Tough question. More and more I tend to believe basic health coverage is a right if only to protect public health. But I haven't seen any answer as to how to achieve true "universal healthcare". The Dems have basically the same plan, except Obama does't mandate coverage so I doubt
