Dr Whiting on Plant-Derived Organic Colloidal Minerals

Liquid colloidal minerals have been a popular supplement for about 20 years, even though they are the oldest selling dietary supplement in the United States. Colloidal trace minerals have been in continuous production and use for over 75 years. Colloidal minerals are, now offered by many different companies, but they certainly are not all the same in quality and absorption. In order for a colloidal mineral product to be completely effective, it must be pure, with no added minerals. Many companies are offering colloidal minerals, to which they have added extra calcium, magnesium, etc., in the hopes of making a product, which appears more potent than other colloidal mineral supplements on the market. This unfortunately, disturbs the delicate bioelectrical balance of the liquid trace mineral suspension. When taking a colloidal mineral product, it is important to ensure that it is 100 percent pure with no additives and especially no extra, non-colloidal minerals added. The term ionic mineral is a marketing hype that really makes no sense. Ionic literally means 'bears an electrical charge" and as such, all minerals are ionic and there is no such thing as a non-ionic mineral. Minerals are anionic or cationic, positive or negative charged. Trace mineral products that are best absorbed come from organic sources such as plant bed deposits or sea vegetation. Organic sourced minerals are much more available to the body because organic minerals compounds are easily recognized, broken down and absorbed by the body. Colloidal minerals are very small in particle size, which helps them to break down more easily and become available to the cells of the body. Sea minerals and other organic sourced minerals have the best absorption rate. Liquid suspensions of these organic trace minerals are the best form of delivery because by keeping the minerals aqueous, the bioelectrical anionic charge is maintained. Not all mineral products are created equal so be sure your trace mineral product has no added minerals or other nutrients and that it is a pure source of organic-based colloidal trace minerals for maximum absorption.
