What is Aging?

Added: August 5, 2008 | Time 00:52 | Views: 496

Like it or not, we all age. The term refers to the process of becoming older. We change physically, psychologically and socially. These changes are influenced by our genetic make-up, environment and lifestyle. Some common conditions and diseases associated with aging are: hearing loss, menopause, bone and joint conditions such as osteoporosis and arthritis; and eye conditions such as cataracts and macular degeneration. Despite these changes, many seniors lead very active and healthy lives. And many consequences associated with chronic disease can be avoided with proper management of the underlying condition.
