Saving Lives One Mile At A Time

Added: January 15, 2008 | Time 01:01 | Views: 4,193

January 2008 (Medialink) - For twenty years, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has organized "Team In Training." This program has changed lives, helped individuals achieve personal goals and most of all, raised over $800 million dollars for cancer research.

Bringing together diverse individuals, "Team In Training" helps individuals prepare for a full marathon run (or walk), a 100-mile century bike ride or a triathlon, all with the help of professional coaches. With the ultimate goal of raising money for cancer research, this program has had over 340,000 participants since its start in 1988.

For the 2008 season, it’s even easier to join. Simply attend a local meeting, sign up and be prepared to change the lives of many. The program culminates in a June 2008 event in California, saving lives one mile at a time.
