PostureJac Exercise: The Turtleneck

Added: November 3, 2009 | Time 00:54 | Views: 243

This exercise was created by Dr. Howard Makofsky to be performed with the PostureJac. Its action pulls the shoulders down, increasing separation between skull and shoulder blades for stretching purposes.

Turtleneck posture may develop as a reaction to the increased force of the head on neck and shoulders from forward head posture. If each inch of forward head posture exerts the force of another head, instinctively the head is recoiled to reduce those forces.

This position is not desirable and needs to be corrected by stretching and realignment.
