This exercise is the supine version of the JacBack Press. Working on core strength, it accesses the muscles on the abdominal floor and the abdominals. Flexors in the lumbar region tend to be stretched in a lordosis condition. This exercise is designed to recruit them.
Stabilizing the spine for Pilates type exercises will reduce lower back strain and chronic pain.
