Some patients not able to afford prescriptions despite enrolling in Medicare Part D program

Medicare’s prescription drug program known as Medicare Part D went into effect in 2006. It was meant to help increase economic access to prescription drugs especially for the poor and chronically ill. A new study reveals the program is helping many people however some of the most seriously ill still cannot afford the medicine they need.
