I agree that the more information becomes available, the more empowered the consumer is, but we do have to be concerned about the quality of the information that is made available, too.

All information is positive. Even if the info you obtain may be someone's opinion and not fully accurate, it can raise questions that you can then ask your doctor about and expand your understanding about what you are going through.

I think the internet is very helpful to patients.....I like to do research before I discuss something with my doc. It makes me feel like I have choices rather than going with whatever the doc says.
