I've had something similar done with my knee after ACL surgery - not an implant, but like electro-shocks. Implant seems pretty drastic....

I know a buddy who has tremendous difficulty with chronic pain, and the docs can't identify the source. Anybody know the extent of the pain blockage, and effectiveness of this system?

While I do not wish chronic pain on anyone, pain is saying that there is something wrong. If you just block the pain and not fix the problem, are you doing more damage as a result of continual use? It is a case by case call but shouldn't we strive to fix the problem?

I'm so glad this man got help. Chronic pain must be miserable. Even walking was difficult for him...does the electric pulse hurt at all?
