Organ Transplants Explained

Added: August 7, 2008 | Time 00:45 | Views: 99

An organ transplant is when doctors replace one person’s damaged or failing organ with either part or all of another person’s organ. Organs can be donated from the living or deceased. Common transplants include the liver, lung, kidney, pancreas, intestine, cornea and heart. Most people who need an organ transplant must be added to a national waiting list. There aren’t enough donated organs, and most patients wait for years before receiving one. Many patients die while waiting. Watch more video about organ transplants or share your story or experience on video with icyou.
