Added: August 7, 2008 | Time 00:54 | Views: 816

Throbbing, sharp, achy and dull are words often used to describe uncomfortable sensations. Pain can be intense and difficult to tolerate in the short-term, such as labor pains and kidney stone impaction, or chronic and long-term, such as low back pain. It’s estimated that almost 100 million Americans suffer from pain at some time. Surgery, chemotherapy, radiation are often used to relieve pain, including that from cancer. Medications can be administered orally, inhaled or injected. Acupuncture and chiropractic therapies are among the dozens of other treatments that are sought to relieve pain.
