What is pregnancy?

Added: August 7, 2008 | Time 00:52 | Views: 478

These nine months of anticipation generally lead to a lifetime of emotions. But whether it’s a first pregnancy or a fifth, we know that women who receive prenatal care early and regularly, have healthier pregnancies, deliveries and babies. During pregnancy, women are screened for diabetes, bacteria in their urine, and high blood pressure. These conditions, and others, can be managed so that both baby and mom don’t suffer any untoward consequences. We also recommend that if a woman is considering becoming pregnant, she get the recommended dietary allowance of folic acid BEFORE conception.
