What is thyroid cancer?

It runs in families and can be deadly, but most thyroid cancers are highly treatable. Surgery and radiation are the mainstays of treatment. It’s important to note that having a thyroid nodule doesn’t necessarily mean one has thyroid cancer. A nodule or lump could be any part of the thyroid gland or neck.
