Teenagers who donate blood may experience an adverse reaction

Teenagers are beginning to make up more of the eligible blood donor pool in the United States. In most states you have to be seventeen to donate blood but in twenty-two states including New York, California and Illinois you only have to be sixteen. While complications are rare, a new study indicates that these youngest donors are most likely to experience some type of adverse reaction.
